Small Steps Quilt Project

Friends at Bethany CC have partnered with Small Steps Nurturing Center this Fall to make a Quilt. We are joining hearts, hands and talents to decorate Quilt blocks, cut and stitch a patchwork top, assemble top, batting and backing and finally sew the Quilt layers together. It’s an exciting process!

This finished Quilt will be donated to More Than Warmth, Intl., a non-profit organization which gifts quilts to children in countries affected by war, disease, famine and natural disasters. We love that this organization shows the love of Jesus in ways that give “more than warmth”. Please join us by praying for this project and children involved.

This past week, we began our Quilt by working with the Kindergaren children at Small Steps to decorate blocks of muslin fabric. The children did an amazing job with their unique artwork around their two traced hands! We can’t wait for the next steps of adding colorful fabric strips and borders to their special artwork. Bethany is blessed with talented, giving quilters and seamstresses to help with this next stage.

Many thanks to Steffy Clingan, Carol Postle and our Pastoral Care Minister, Blair Parker for assisting with the artwork done at Small Steps. Stay tuned for future updates on our project!
